Video podcasts, in the same player

How it works

1. Subscribe as usual. Search for any show. If it publishes video, in its feed or as a YouTube version of the episode, the app finds it.
2. Switch between Audio and Video in the player. Your position carries over both ways.
3. Same controls. Queue, speed and the rest of the player work the same for video episodes.

Good to know

• Downloads: video from a show's own feed can be downloaded like audio. The app warns you before a large video file, and asks before downloading video over cellular.
• YouTube versions stream only. They can't be downloaded or played in the background; switch to audio for that.
• Driving: video turns off while you drive. Audio keeps playing, including in CarPlay and Android Auto.
• Some videos won't play if they are private, deleted or restricted. The app tells you and you can carry on in audio.

Transcripts, episode chat and Podcast Brain work on video episodes the same way as audio, and an answer can take you to the moment in the video. These are free up to a daily limit. See transcripts and Podcast Brain.
